Vac schemes kick off: trouble already
It's the start of the vac scheme season and with it come the usual tales of bad behaviour, over-indulgence and vomiting at the dinner table.
Reports have already reached RollOnFriday of a Freshfields vac schemer having to leave the firm's curry and karaoke evening in an ambulance. According to the firm, the would-be lawyer had been feeling a little unwell during the day and probably shouldn't have gone out that night. Ahhh, hindsight.
And Shearman & Sterling has been forced to deny rumours that one vac schemer was actually escorted off the premises and asked not to return. A Shearman spokeswoman assured RollOnFriday that all its summer students had made it to the end of their programmes and everyone had had a "very positive experience".
RollOnFriday will keep readers informed of further goings-on as the season develops (please send in any stories to news@rollonfriday.com or by using the button below). And vac schemers might like to prepare for their time in the office by studying the email below which, while a few years old, still provides a perfect example of how a student should introduce himself to the rest of the firm.

Therefore would any of you be available for a medicinal drink sometime or lunch? Just for a general chat of what you have been up to during your seats and how life is progressing as a trainee/apprentice at MOP........"bring on the big disposable income!!".
It would be great if we could meet up and go for a medicinal drink. It was mentioned that you all might be going for a drink this Friday evening (except for the athletes who have a rugby fixture the following day of course..).
Could you recommend any bars/clubs to go to in Dublin this w/end...? Looking forward to meeting you, Assured Intern.
