ROLLONFRIDAY STORY 16TH JUNE 2006

Revealed - the most fanciable millionaire in the law

Last week we ran a frankly childish story on the most shaggable millionaire lawyer in the City and we're delighted to report that 8,000 of you took the time to register your votes.

Clifford Chance's Jeremy Sandelson was in the lead by the end of last Friday, but the punishing hours put in by Slaughter and May meant that there were sufficient lawyers in Bunhill Row over the weekend to give their poster boy, William Underhill, a commanding lead by Monday morning. Despite a last minute surge of support for Allen & Overy's Guy Berringer, Underhill never looked in any danger and the crown - and the tube of Nivea for Men - goes to him.

Woof!

The vote was not without its controversy. One "dedicated Linklaters employee and Charlie Jacobs fan" complained that IT problems precluded her from voting, and asked that we make this clear when publishing the final results. And there have been scandalous suggestions that Underhill looks nothing like his photo - there have been dark mutterings of make-up, airbrushing and more attractive younger brothers.

But ultimately the legions of dedicated Slaughters assistants ensured that their man won the day. And that's why Slaughters is the most profitable firm in the City - it's just that little bit hungrier than everyone else.
