Hospital honours doctor-bashing lawyer
Staff at St Luke's Episcopal Hospital in Texas are up in arms at the news that a hospital wing is to be named after a lawyer who makes his living suing them for malpractice.
John O'Quinn, a Texan billionaire, has donated $25million to the hospital in return for having the wing named after him. Unfortunately, a large part of this $25million was made by bankrupting medical products company Dow Corning for producing "unsafe" breast implants (later thought to be completely safe) - and by ruining the careers of several doctors through lawsuits which a judge described as "bogus".

Unsurprisingly, the doctors at St Luke's are not particularly pleased at the prospect of working in a building named after O'Quinn and have sent a petition to the hospital's board of directors condemning the move.
In response to which the board of the hospital has issued a statement saying that they had already considered the concerns of the staff - but for $25million they really couldn't care less.
