Is this possible? My offer explodes before two vacation schemes this summer so I might have to accept the offer and then renege on it possibly... is this ok?

Don't feel bad about accepting a TC and reneging later because you got a better offer (I believe there's a conduct rule about not holding more than two offers, so don't do that).

It's two years ahead so the firm will have no trouble filling your place.

If they discover that they don't need as many trainees as they thought they won't hesitate to defer your start date so think of this as the shoe on the other foot.
