Solicitors hand out baked beans in protest at Tesco law

A group calling itself "qualitysolicitors.com", and which claims to represent a wide section of the profession, has handed out baked beans as part of a blatant publicity stunt protest outside the Royal Courts of Justice this week.

The group objects to proposed legal reforms, and so on Monday its members were to be found marching up and down in front of the RCJ, waving banners proclaiming "not Tesco Law" and "Legal services by supermarkets is as ridiculous as lawyers selling beans". Realising that the former wasn't really English and the latter wasn't the punchiest slogan, they emphasised their point by handing out cans of baked beans to unsuspecting passers-by.

What you get from qualitysolicitors.com

While RollOnFriday supports lawyers wiling to stand up to large corporates, it does seem qualitysolicitors.com may be motivated by its own self-interest. The site appears to be little more than an attempt to push would-be clients to its own member firms - although when RollOnFriday called them to find out which firms they represent, they didn't know.

Qualitysolicitors.com's claim to be the "No. 1 legal brand", might possibly be disputed by Clifford ChanceSlaughter and May or of course Nabarro.
