A student at Leeds university has pleaded guilty to impersonating a London barrister.

The problem started when Adam Zoubir arrived at Calderdale Magistrates Court back in February, smartly dressed and claiming to be a barrister from London. However, his behaviour alerted one court legal clerk who phoned his supposed chambers, 4 Kings Bench Walk. The chambers confirmed that while they did indeed have a barrister called Adam Zoubir, he definitely wasn't appearing at Calderdale.

Further investigations revealed the northern Adam Zoubir to be a student. He was arrested and charged with attempting to impersonate an officer of the court.

Zoubir pleaded guilty to the charges earlier this week and the judge is now deciding his sentence.
