Ashurst lawyer mocked for daft article

An associate at Ashurst's Abu Dhabi office has been given a merciless ribbing after boasting about his Porsche and Rolex in a local newspaper.

Robin Hickman's interview is worth a read for the contradictions alone: His dad wasn't well off, apparently, but nonetheless owned a squash club and a Porsche. And Robin is frugal with money, but nonetheless blew a month's salary on a Rolex Daytona. "They are very rare, because Rolex doesn’t make many of them, and I found this one by chance in Bangkok. There is a five-year waiting list for these watches". Err Robin, there's no waiting list for the fake ones. Although his "limited edition Boxster S RS60 Spyder" is presumably genuine enough. "I never expected to own a sports car at the age of 26. To say my dad was jealous is an understatement".

Unkind users of RollOnFriday's discussion board suggest that Robin only gave the interview because it might get him some action - helped by the smouldering photograph that accompanied the article:

    Ooooooooh, suits you!

A spokeswoman for Ashurst said that "the interview was undertaken in a personal capacity, and our staff are at liberty to spend their salaries as they see fit".
