BPP in LLB results cock-up
06 November 2009
BPP students found themselves anxiously waiting for their results last week, when the computer system failed yet again.
Students told RollOnFriday that when the LLB results were put out, the computer system simply couldn't cope with the demand. One says that the system was down for most of the afternoon, and claims that "
when I was finally able to log on I could only get access to a different student's results".

The cock-up comes after the summer-time results were delayed by three days due to technical issues. Given the amount of wedge that BPP is raking in - the GDL/LLB course costs around ten grand - they might have considered shelling out for a system that didn't run on steam*.
In a statement Peter Crisp, BPP Law School's Chief Exec, said: "I want to make it absolutely clear that nobody had access to another student's results. This is impossible as we never list names, but instead use a unique student record numbering system (SRN) as part of our robust data protection procedures.
On Friday afternoon we experienced a brief temporary systems problem on our VLE (Blackboard, which is hosted externally). This resulted in a short delay in publishing a full list of SRNs and results for the LLB. Results are always posted in a whole list format - those with access will see the full list of SRNs with the corresponding results - each student then looks up their own personal number and result.
A small number of students contacted BPP to report this; the matter was dealt with immediately."
