Deirdre Dare latest: ex-A&O smutty novellist launches fighting fund
21 August 2009
The
A&O associate who lost her job after posting bad poetry, smutty novels and pictures of her woo woo on the net has launched a fighting fund.
Deirdre Dare, a senior associate at the firm's Moscow office, found worldwide fame after RollOnFriday revealed that she was behind deirdredare.com, a site detailing the erotic adventures of an expat lawyer. Which seemed largely to dwell on the deficiencies of Frenchmen's trouser equipment.
A&O fired Dare after she refused to take the site down, and she promptly went after the firm for £3.5million. Clearly the fight isn't going too well - last week Dare was reduced to sending out the following begging letter:

From: Deirdre Dare
Date: 14th August 2009
To: Everyone
Subject: The Blanche Dubois Fundraiser
Dear Supporters:
Hi from Moscow.
I need to raise money so that I can continue to pursue my lawsuit against my law firm for firing me for writing Expat and poetry and posting it on Deidredare.com. Also, so that I can continue writing my column which I believe will help Russian-Western relations.
I have asked my friends and family to little avail: I believe that they want me to "tow the line," and that all of this pisses them off.
If each of you were to send me $100, I can see the case through the court system. If not my firm will get off scot free and I'll be forced to leave Moscow.
Please help me.
I'm up against a wall and there's no other way out.
I have bank accounts in the UK and USA. If you're willing to help, please let me know and I can send you wire information.
Thanks for at least considering this request...
Love, Deidre

Dare told RollOnFriday that she "
cancelled the whole thing in the end. But people were very, very nice." She said that she had parted ways with her no win / no fee solicitor after a falling out, was now representing herself and was trying "
to find another way to make money".
A spokesman for Allen & Overy said that it would be inappropriate to comment.
As ever, the last word will be left to Dare's poetry.
"The Lioness"
A luscious lioness
A nest and a den
A raining girl:
Sweat of love,
Wet of sex,
Tears of sorrow.
Each, unable to face
The hunt tomorrow.
