The firm is taking part in the Government Learning at Work scheme and is trying to encourage a higher uptake of courses offered in the office. And given that there is nothing more sensible in a recession than diversifying your skills, the courses being offered by Hill Dickinson include:

  • Greeting Card Design
  • Introduction to Texas Hold 'em Poker
  • Nail Art
  • Learn to Juggle

Second career as a manicurist anybody?

RollOnFriday's personal favourite is Silly Billy's Balloonatic Asylum: "Silly Billy the Clown (aka property partner Bill Chandler) leads this practical balloon modelling workshop..." The firm assures its lawyers that once they have created their own balloon animals they can take their work home to "amaze your friends and family".

Still, it beats yet another seminar on commercial tenancy, and it's all for a good cause. A spokeswoman for the the firm said the workshops were being held at lunch as part of the Campaign for Learning's Learning at Work Day and any funds raised would be given to Wateraid.

Please would any lawyers at Hill Dick who have taken part in the balloon making course send photos of their accomplishments to RollOnFriday here.
