A barrister has been disbarred for being a racist and anti-semite.

The Bar Standards Board has ejected 60-year-old Ian Millard from the profession for  "conduct likely to diminish the trust and confidence in barristers". Specifically, for several tweets which betrayed Millard's hatred of Jews, non-white people and, less abominably, Michael Gove:

• ‘”Two cab drivers guilty of refusing to pick up blind man and guide dog”. Muslims again. Wake up, UK!’


• ‘Juden sind hier unerwunscht,’ which translates as ‘Jews not wanted here.’


• ‘So-called Black Friday is just that in the UK. 95% blacks and browns, with the odd white chavscum here and there. UK finished?’


• ‘Hitler considered that a Jewish homeland would be a threat to humanity’. He was right!’

• "Pro-Zionist, pro-Jew expenses cheat Michael Gove, now diminished shrunk to his true level (2 inches off the ground). Liar.”

Millard, who was called to the bar by Lincolns Inn in 1991 but last practised in 2007, reacted to the news by poisoning his family and blowing out his brains in a bunker claiming on Twitter,  "the disbarment suits me. I am now free". Since then he has been tweeting Nazi sentiments and imagery at a steady clip. It is not known whether he is about to be arrested.

Jonathan Goldberg QC, who brought the complaint, said after the hearing, "A man who spews out such Nazi propaganda is not fit to call himself a barrister, so I feel satisfied".
