I have ordered some Dominick Dunne, but am not sure that they will get here in time, so will download onto my kindle instead
I also have a book that I want to read for work on the intricacies of the financial markets

any other good books anyone has read lately? Preferably fiction

If you want to read anything that is a good read (ie reads like a novel) but is about the financial markets or similar, download some Michael Lewis - Liar's Poker is probably the easiest page-turner, but FlashBoys is good and I found The Undoing Project fascinating...otherwise, what genre of fiction takes your fancy...?

I have got Liar's Poker downloaded - great minds

I like mysteries but only well written ones.

the financial markets book that I have is actually a text book, so it might be a bit yawn some

Including historical mysteries...? If so, I think you'd love the Ann Swinfen Christoval Alvarez series...set in the time of Elizabeth I, really well written and you will LOVE the central character...

Have you read Jasper Fforde's Thursday Next books...? Again, I think you would enjoy them hugely...

I actually got Fish Sunday Thinking for 99p for the trip out. I will probably leave it in the plane so anyone flying Easyjet from then until whenever they bother cleaning the plane may get lucky.

I actually met the author round about when it came out and nearly sub-let a room off him. So that's my brush with celebrity.

Talking to my daughter about the economy - A brief history of capitalism by Yanis Varoufakis

Much better than I expected it to be. Some of it is fiction. But most is useful and insightful. Easy to read - good beach book. Lots to think about

Elfi, Varoufakis is an engaging writer, isn't he?

Have you read his 'Adults In The Room: My Battle With Europe’s Deep Establishment'?

It would have been useful for Theresa The Appeaser to have boned up on this a while back...

I would dig out something old and chunky like "A Suitable Boy" and immerse myself in it.

I have just this minute started The Rings of Saturn by WG Sebald and if you’re in the mood for a good rambling discursive memoir, this is for you.
