Has anyone ever hooked up with a barrister you were instructing or with an instructing solicitor during the course of a matter? Just found out that a barrister I instruct was playing away from home with an instructing solicitor not too long ago

He's fairly tall as it goes. Probably makes all the difference

The barrister - instructing solicitor thing was definitely a thing (at least back in the day). I assume it still is

I gave a lady barrister instructions once, and I am pleased to confirm they did not require her to provide any legal advice or advocacy.

i did find 2 QCs from the same chambers acting for us and the other side a bit odd but apaz its all about chinese walls, so if youre going to shag opoo counsel just try not to tell them what your strategy is or that you don't have one

Not uncommon for 2 bazzas from the same chambers to be on opposite side of the same case.

She left her husband for the client, married him and then divorced him.

She’s now married to somebody else. It’s not clear to me whether he was also a client but he is divorced

Very normal to be against people from your own set. I used to be against people from my chambers all the time. I wouldn't be concerned about it. If anything, it's a good thing as it brings out their competitive side.
