This is a fairly classic mixer tap. Not sure it's from the 80s though.

This?

"The wild dogs cry out in the night
As they grow restless, longing for some solitary company
I know that I must do what's right
As sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti
I seek to cure what's deep inside, frightened of this thing that I've become..."

Fore the Dire Straits track, I will nominate, not the obvious choice (Sultans of Swing) but Once Upon A Time In The West from the double live album Alchemy. It is as fresh as the day it was first recorded. A wonderful live version.

@ old git roundabout - my bad. I guess live albums from the 80s bearing tracks originally released in the 70s don't count.

I therefore nominate:

Dire Straits - Ride Across The River (rather than the more obvious Brothers In Arms, for the kick ass bass playing)

Queen - so many great tracks from the 70s and so few from the 80s. Under Pressure for me please.

Girkl and Sergio winning so far. MARRS a particularly fine shout.

Add:
Beats International and Lindy Layton - Dub Be Good To Me (1990, but still counts)
Soul 2 Soul - Back To Life
Fuzzbox - Pink Sunshine
Richard Marx - Right here Waiting
Sabrina - Boys Boys Boys
Bobby Brown - On our Own
Bel Biv Devoe - Poison
Baby I Don't Care - Transvision Vamp

And, of course, anything by Milli vanilli. Note also that Poison, Tigertailz, Skid Row and Warrant were all active in 1989, albeit Tigertailz' seminal "Bezerk" didn't come out until 1990.
