In addition to being extremely amusing (in a laugh at and not with kind of way), is the use of these terms by men to describe other men not a near flawless way of identifying someone with self-esteem issues?

I'm slightly confused by this - are the idiots moaning on the Mens' Rights sites self-identifying as betas and therefore annoyed that women won't have the sechs with them because they are on the 'c0ck carousel' with all the alphas?

Or are they saying that they need to behave like alphas in order to get the sechs which is where all the PUA stuff kicks in?

I think the ones on the websites are the ones who didn't really understand PUA and failed to make it work for them.

The basic rules are

Go to the gym or take some form of exercise so you look healthy

Don't be a doormat

Ask women out

All the rest is jargon.

The whole thing was developed by nerdy, "beta" and "omega" guys ;who couldn't get laid and worked out a system to help them. Their "analysis" needed a language so they created a jargon and from that a way of thinking that led to the "red pill philosophy". Instead of accepting that they were perpetuating a sort of psychological fraud on the women they met in order to appear confident (also known as "fake it till you make it") they thought that they had discovered profound eternal knowledge about "the nature of women" and familliarity bred contempt.

If only they could step back a bit they'd see it. Lots of women like fit blokes who like a laugh. And yes, there are plenty of exceptions but if you want an ONS with a random then being fit and healthy and having a laugh is a good place to start.

Er, get with the programme Clergs, EVERY women aged 18-25 is on the c0ck carousel and getting it on with as many alphas as she can.

When she hits 'the Wall' (which happens when women get really old and turn 26) they settle down with a beta/cuck who raises her children as his own.

This is happening all the time, everywhere, I can't believe you haven't noticed it.

Or just google cock carousel.

Like a lot of stopped clock myths it has elements of truth. Some women do lie about the number of sexual partners they've had but why that would matter to a man who aspires to be a pick up artist and shag as many women as possible, I have no idea.

Personally I've never asked. I would have sex with a hole in a telegraph pole if I liked the colour of the moss in it.

Surely it's the use to describe yourself that is the red flag. Calling yourself an alpha male is automatically self-defeating. If it was true, you wouldn't need to say it.

The jargon helps create a sense of secret knowledge, of an in-crowd and of superiority over those who don't know it. That's useful in the environment where, remember, most of the guys who use it have low self--esteem, are sexually frustrated and not getting laid. It also makes it easier to sell workshops, attract people to websites, sell on-line courses etc. It gives people the impression that they're learning something new.l

But alpha and beta are perceived differently by different women. They are not universal qualities. A pale guy with skinny legs and a book of poetry under his arm might be anathema to you but the stuff of hot erotic dreams to another. That's what makes these definitions kind of useless.

Perhaps that's true in zoology, but even there the alpha gets to have the most mates once he has demonstrated his dominance over the other males.

Alpha / beat amongst the PUAs / meninists is a moveable feast. It all seems pretty meaningless, words men use to denigrate or praise each other and bolster their own self-esteem. Or sometimes alpha means believes in the red pill / PUA bollox and beta means has a life.

Actually Sergio I think there were sound reasons behind it. These were lonely people who tended to be science geeks and hence were into the internet. They used their science knowledge to go out and research, to experiment on what worked and didn't work in terms of attracting women. They shared the results of those experiments on the internet. They called it field research and they shared the results of their research with each other. Unfortunately the scientific method when applied to human beings is not very reliable. It is a fact, for instance, that a great many psychology experiments are not repeatable - or at least do not have the same results every time when repeated.

The nerds realised that something awasn't working but sadly concluded that it was women rather than their philosophy. Also, by that time the research and experimentation aspect had been overtaken by the dissemination of the information that came from the results. The PUA ideas had become marketable and were no longer restricted to science geeks but had spread to sad and frustrated loners everywhere. They added their own prejudices and personal bugbears and the result is the mishmash of hatred and inadequacy that you see today.

I think in some ways the first experimenters were quite brave. This is before the PUAs who managed to become names or sell books. I mean the ones who started the first forums and went out in the very beginning to try to approach and talk to women and just see what happened and report on it. These were guys who had little or no experience talking to women who weren't family members. They were probably terrified at first and could only ever have done it by thinking of it as scientific research rather than as trying to meet a woman.

But it was a bit like giving a gorilla a radio. Even if they get it to work you know it's going to get smashed to shlt before long.

Another sad consequence of the application of the experimental model is the growth of the myth that men are rational and women are not. The strict scientific method includes the idea that the experimenter has an effect on the experiment. These guys did not. They assumed they were a controlled variable and that they remained the same under all circumstances.

They did not stop for self-analysis or examination beyond what they might have done to make the interaction better. They didn't do any self-analysis. They believed the scientific method was beyond question because it had always worked for them in other aspect of their lives. And besides - they didn't know anything else.

Flawed experiment = flawed results.

Ooops.

And this is the perfect example of wooly thinking from the "rational" meninist.

I'm not saying a hoot is a scientist. In fact I suspect he probably isn't. However the problem with the post is that we don't even know who he's talking to never mind what has prompted him to draw his conclusion. To begin to engage with him would involve eliciting that information and frankly it's hard work. A brief reading of his posts quickly leads to the conclusion that he's not worth the effort.

It's one of those moments when you think how stupid the average person is and then realise that although it's not strictly an accurate assessment it's an easy leap to think that half the population is more stupid than that.
