Why doesn't he just become a Tory MP? He'd walk it, and he could escape the swivel-eyed.

You seem to be labouring under the misapprehension that the Conservative party is a swivel free zone Ducks.

Wot Scot Chegg sed.

Farage is toxic. Good for a base level of support, but utterly wrong for any wider appeal.

It is not about him winning his seat so much as raising the national vote through is national media profile.

Ukip will get zero seats.

Farage could become PM if he inflitrates the tories.

The Brexit tories hate him you fool. Farage wouldn't stand a chance in the tory party. Those bastards are proper ruthless. He wouldn't even want to join. If he achieved office he'd have to actually do something and, like Bojo at the Foreign Office, he would be found wanting. That's no good for him.

UKIP got 12.6% of the votes at the last GE. That placed it after Labour and the Tories only. Its problem wasn't its level of appeal, but the grotesquely undemocratic effects of FPTP.

The SNP got 4.7%

The Lib Dems got 7.9%

Scott Chegg's chippiness over school fees borders on the obsessive.

Do they h8 him? Most of the Brexiting Tories I know think he's acers. Infinitely better than that self-serving no-marks Carswell.

Carswell beats Farage hands down

Farage has a distinct whiff of racist xenophobe about him

It smells worse than Carswell's smell anyway

UKIP no longer need any seats. In fact, they never needed any seats.

They've succeeded, against enormous odds, in bringing about fundamental change in UK politics and governance.

Like him or loath him, probably THE most effective politician since Churchill.

Farage had a mission, set out on it and made it happen.

He is a bit of a dick (especially for his creepy support of the orange, small handed bullshitter) but he has earned a knighthood.

I think Falange has tarnished himself in the eyes of people he might have won over. His petty maneuvering and transparent spite against the establishment he professes to want to destroy yet from which he clambers for recognition has exposed him.

His association with Trump is his moment of misspent spare time in a Sofitel in NY.

the point about Farage is not that he is popular so much as he is high profile and the media loves him (or loves to hate him) without him there is a danger (or more precisely a hope) of UKIP sinking without trace, with him they will stay on the news agenda.

If Farage stands in Clacton instead of Aaron Banks he will win.

It is the most nutter filled constituency in the country. The only possible place where UKIP stands a chance and even then I think Farage is the only one who could do it.

I really hope he goes for Thanet again. He's got no chance there.
