You and everybody else...

Is Winnard off to Brentford then? Bogle has been tracked by Brentford for months. Ipswich, Wigan, Rotherham, Sheff Utd and Leeds all supposed to be looking at him too.

He's superb. Best player we've had in 20 years. Very much a confidence player, so I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up moving in close season rather than in the window, but he's going - no about about that.

Definitely a Championship player. Would expect him to make the leap to the Prem after a season or two.

We've rejected a bid of £850,000 from Rotherham. You can double that at least.

Winnard FFS.

I meant Winnall.

Wasn't Bogle the player the Grimsby fans clubbed together and raised 4K or whatever it was for when you bought him Bentines?

Brentford might make sense as Hogan seems to be going, whether to West Ham or elsewhere. Bogle must be worth £1.5m or so in this market agreed.

We raised £110,000 in the end. Not bad for an area with no money. And yes, this bought Bogle, who then scored the two goals in the play off final to get us back into the league. Rumour has it we paid about £55k. Solihull Moors do have a sell on clause though. And I suspect we will have one nailed on wherever he goes.

110k for a none league (at the time) club in that area is indeed mighty impressive. Thought you got him cheaper than that but that makes sense.

Was delighted when you, as a proper club, beat FGR in the play off final. You'll definitely want a sell on clause if/when he goes agreed

It was a great day. I doubt anything Grimsby do in the future will come close. With the parachute payments for dropping into non league now over £1 million, I think it was our last chance. The club was struggling and it's a very competitive league. Hellish to get out of.

any chance of a play-off push for your lot this season or happy with mid table?

Surprised to see Pompey languishing in 5th in League 2.

Bogle reminds me of Andre Gray, who was banging in goals for us in the Conference a few years ago and is now banging them in the Premier League.

Although i see Bogle has scored 18 of your 33 league goals this year. Selling him spells doom non?

Yeah, it'll make a massive difference as we have relied on him.

Mind you, we signed a striker a week and a half ago who has scored in each of his two games so far. Also have another non league striker on trial at the moment - top scorer in southern premier league. Very Bogle-esque.

50 points and safety will do me.

I'm hearing Winnall will be going to Sheff Wednesday. I hope we get a decent fee for him. He's out of contract in the summer, but half a season of a 1 in 2 striker is surely worth a decent amount to us given we're in with an outside shot of the playoffs.

I'll be gutted if he goes, but I'm more concerned about us keeping Hourihane

We're selling Winnall for 500k. Meanwhile Brentford are rejecting 12.5m for Hogan who is also out of contract in the summer. We're fvcking awful when it comes to negotiating sales.

Been confirmed that one club has made two bids for him. Both times they were told he's not for sale.

Plot thickens. Still think he'll end up going down south or back to West Midlands.

Local journos reporting a deal is close for Bogle.

We've also agreed to sell Hourihane to Wednesday for 1m. The best central midfielder in the league this season for 1m. Well done Barnsley, a stunning lack of ambition.

I'm hearing this too. Although there have been loads of rumours...

Barnsley's strategy doesn't add up to me at all either.

Well they absolutely won't sign new deals as we can't even come close to offering what teams like Wednesday can. Winnall has gone from 4.5k a week to 18k a week.

But given our strategy of buying league 2 players and developing them we will probably never have a better chance at getting into the playoffs. Every signing we make is a gamble and these players take time to develop. So selling the 2 we have developed into the finished article to a playoff rival for 1.5m total is just a pathetic surrender.

Also, Bogle will probably move for about £1.5 million and although he's a good player, he's not yet the finished article and certainly won't replace both players you've just sold. As I said before, he's a confidence player and too much pressure early on will ruin him.

We will see.

Hopefully a decent sell on clause in there for when he inevitably goes to Villa for £6m in two years time

I've not heard anything of any real substance lately, but we are quite good at doing deals on the quiet and announcing them suddenly like the signing of Alex Mowatt the other day.

It'll be some years until we get a player like that again.

Yep. Will be a completely different team now. We have signed a couple of attacking midfielders so presumably will be looking to them to score goals.

Oh and it turns out it was £1 million, not 1.5. Think we have him away. Hope there's a sell on clause.

We're a bit all over the place at the moment. I think we'll be a very good team next season but you should come away with three points on Saturday.

We only need another 12 points to survive - that'll do me tbh.

You said that about the game at the Kennel and you beat us soundly then. We too are all over the place. A good win against Cambridge on Saturday and then losing at home to Cheltenham last night.
