Have been playing for 6 years, about once per month and play off 14 - have some good days and some bad days...

I played off 7 when I was 14, should have gone lower. Used to play 72 holes every weekend when I was a trainee, pretty comfortable high single figures. Now I might as well chuck it around - currently off 11. If I ever slip to category 3, I'm giving up.

If you're playing off 27 in your mid-twenties, you will never get below - say - 15.

HCP just reduced to 6 following competition at the weekend.
Clearly I have too much time on my hands!

Yeah, I can see you working behind the till in some miserable provincial municipal golf course, re-gripping putters and molesting moustachioed old ladies as you teach them swing fundamentals.

Being a pro golfer is absolutely appalling. Read Four Iron in the Soul by Lawrence Donegan.
