EXCLUSIVE: Nightvision needed at Nabarro

News has hit RoF Towers this morning that staff at Nabarro were literally left in the dark yesterday when all the power went out in the firm's flashy offices at Lacon House. And when I called the firm to see what was going on, the receptionist confirmed that there was a "power supply problem". So guess it's still going on then (as of Friday noon)...

Nabarro. How it may have looked.

Dispatches smuggled out of the firm included that the firm was "completely without power and IT services in London. Calling any London line from 10:30am yesterday [Thursday] would have given you a deadtone. Try emailing them? Nope, nothing." Another said that neither the firm nor the landlord had any "contingency power supply". So everyone was pretty much buggered, given that no-one knows about travelling drafts and DX addresses anymore (except a few crusty old buffers in real estate, right?)

Supposedly teams were sent home early and remote access capabilities are still not working. As one source said, it's a "major embarrassment for the firm with another day without WIP being recorded" (points given for an excellent lawyerly attitude toward the billable hour).

Another Nabarrite told us that it was the second time this had happened in about a year (even though the firm's landlord had promised the fault had been fixed). Whoops.

According to sources at the firm, the backup systems have kicked in, and hopefully Nabarro will return from the Stone Age soon.

Is this really worthy of the "EXCLUSIVE" shout? Hardly news.
